Year 7 | Transitions

Program Synopsis

The transition program was written for students who are beginning their senior or secondary level of education. The program is made up of two themes; coping with early adolescence and navigating relationships. The first section of the program is dedicated to coping with emotional challenges typical of this age group as well as providing students with the tools to manage self-doubt and remain connected with valued networks. The second section focuses on the challenges associated with forming and maintaining healthy relationships. Students are also provided with information and strategies to empower them to manage traditional forms of bullying and cyber bullying. There is also a strong focus on assertiveness training and empowering bystanders to stand up to bullying.
