Foundations
The Foundations Development Program introduces students to the fundamental abilities required to understand their own emotions and that of others. Through a series of fun and interactive based classroom activities, students will develop their emotional vocabulary, learn basic strategies to effectively communicate their feelings to others and learn a range of strategies to deal with ‘big’ emotions as they arise.
A key component of this program is to include parents in the learning process at the outset. Parents are included via a series of informative letters sent home at intervals throughout the program, helping to create a consistent language relating to emotional intelligence across home and school settings. Letters to parents include suggestions of at home activities the whole family can enjoy, all the while support the learning occurring in the classroom.
